Comments on my blog are being screened. I have no problem approving comments that call me out on what I say, but I’m out there with who I am. Don’t hide behind a fake name and expect a response.
I’m the Denise DuFresne that lives in Northern Florida. I know there are others all over the U.S. and Canada, but I’m the only one like me around.
I’m a writer, originally from New York City, so I’m still getting used to the Southern way of life. My life goals are to become a successful, best selling author and raise my teenage son into a decent, hard working, caring, law abiding adult. Monumental tasks, I know, but that’s what this blog is for. To chronicle the uphill battles of pursuing a writing career while being a single, full time parent and working full time, share the victories and losses and maybe even write some decent posts about this whole writing thing.
Other little things about me:
I have a big brown dog who likes to be as close to me as possible. Right now, she’s one nudge away from this whole page being deleted.
I work at a 140 year old lighthouse in the nation’s oldest continuously occupied city. I don’t care what your history teachers told you, either. My town is older than Jamestown and Plymouth. I love my day job and the people I work with. We keep history alive.
I hate clowns. As in, they scare me to my foundation and I can’t look at them.
I almost dated a rock star when I was young and cute. I don’t know if a drummer that used to be in Kiss counts as a rock star, but yup, he could have been my gateway rock guy to someone bigger. He was twenty years older than me and I met him at work, so dating him struck me as wrong. (No, I did NOT go out with the man. EVER.)
I am currently about 25,000 words from a completed first draft of my novel.
I had a pretty great ride writing fan fiction. Google “kdsch123 fan fiction” and see what comes up.
If you can’t get enough of me, I feel sad for you, but here’s where you can find more on the Internet:
